King's Kids - 2007

Back Home Up Next

Aim –  As in previous years our aim in King's Kids is to tell the children about Jesus and encourage them to accept Him as their Lord and Saviour.

Personnel - The team until the end of August was Marcus, Pritti, Richard, Susie, Lisa, Sarah and myself. We were extremely sorry to say goodbye to Marcus and Pritti at the end of August – they will be extremely hard to replace!

Young People – We had 22 youngsters at King’s Kids on 9 September. It is hoped that numbers will stabilise now that the summer holidays are over.

Groups – After a group time each week we are continuing to split into age related groups for activities more suited to the differing age ranges.

Teaching Course - We continue to use the 'On The Way' teaching material. We are encouraging the older group to spend more time in the morning service but provide them with their own group should they prefer.

New on Sunday mornings – On the last Sunday of the month, for a trial period from September to November inclusive, the King’s Kids are to spend the first 20 minutes in the morning service before going to Sunday School.

Other Activities through the year:

1.                 Antigone - King's Kids continue to sponsor a cow at Caring for Life. Approximately £10 per month has been collected each month since we started in November 2004. So far £300 has been sent to CFL.

2.                 Christmas Production – The children again staged a Nativity, with the smaller children taking the parts and the older ones giving the narration.

3.                 Party – This year we took the younger children to The Monkey Maze at Garforth. Thanks to the Shipleys who again invited everyone back to their home for tea.

As in previous years we would appreciate your prayers for :

a)                 The leaders that we may present the Gospel with clarity and simplicity.

b)                 That our meetings will be fun and enjoyable.

c)                  For the children that they may understand and respond to the things they hear.

d)                 That we may be able to encourage more children to join the group.
