More people have become Christians and are now disciples – Praise God for His work through the Holy Spirit in bringing these people to life. There are now about 200 people for whom we pray and of those people a handful are people we know through our connection with Boroughbridge. We thank God for the ever increasing opportunity to ‘talk to God about men - before we talk to men about God’. The main focus of the prayer is that people we know become Christians – work colleagues, neighbours and family members, or people we know through one of our ministries. We pray for those who know them (i.e. us), that we will be obedient to God so He can use our testimony of Him. We also pray for those who do not obey God as they did. We pray for the Holy Spirit to work in conviction, salvation, restoration, encouragement and wisdom, at least. You probably find that you know people in one or more of these categories, and you have the opportunity, the support, and the challenge to pray for them here. We are grateful to God for the freedom to pray as Jesus commanded us, ‘men ought always to pray and never give up’. We worship Him as we see the connection between the prayers he has taught us to pray and the spiritual life He is bringing into being: ‘How much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?’ Our prayer is in obedience to His command ‘That the Lord of the harvest will send out workers into the harvest field’. ‘Let us be rich towards God’.
